Pasture Walk - Morganza, LA (1)

On September 19th, 2018, Four Oaks Farm and the Louisiana GLCI are hosting a pasture walk at Four Oaks Farm in Morganza, LA. Four Oaks is a family-owned business, operated by four brothers, Mitch, Mark, Matt, and Marty. They grow sugarcane, crawfish, rice, corn, soybeans, wheat, and cattle. Four years ago, they added cattle to their operation because a pace of land in the Morganza Spillway wasn't suitable for growing crops. At this event Matt Frey will share how he transformed his crop acreage into a healthy pasture used for rotational cattle grazing. He will also be planting rye grass during the event, using a no-till method. This event is $5.00 per person at the gate, and a catered lunch will be provided.
