About the Event

David Daigle and family have been grazing Longleaf Pine savannahs for 36 years now. They use prescribed fire in conjunction with targeted grazing to manage their high quality longleaf savannah habitat. Come see how the family manages this now-rare habitat, and how soil health plays an important role in maintaining the plant community and the wildlife that thrives in this ecosystem. Louisiana NRCS will present a Primer On Soil Health, as well as a field demonstration on recognizing indicators of a healthy, productive soil. The event is free and lunch will be provided.
